There is a particular kind of Indian woman who lives between worlds. She may inherit her grandmother’s traditions, yet build a life entirely her own. She can wear a sari one day and a sharply tailored shirt the next. She can honour ritual without being defined by it.

Anusuya, the Indo-contemporary jewellery collection from Indian jewellery label Unbent, is made for her. The collection takes its name from the Sanskrit word associated with devotion, grace and strength, qualities that sit at the heart of its story. But Anusuya is not an exercise in recreating traditional Indian jewellery. Instead, it asks a more interesting question: What happens when heritage is allowed to evolve?
For Unbent founder Shivangi, this connection is personal. Her larger design philosophy has always been about taking stories from Central India and placing them within a contemporary, global fashion landscape. Anusuya continues that conversation translating indigenous inspiration into modern Indian jewellery that feels relevant far beyond the occasion.
Having worked with Birdhichand in the past, Shivangi has a great command in understanding High-end bridal jewellery in depth which eventually led her to create ANUSUYA.
The pieces move easily between worlds, too. An emerald and polki necklace can accompany a festive ensemble, a sculptural ring can sit just as naturally beside a contemporary wardrobe.
There is a Garuda-inspired necklace that’s Shivangi’s personal favourite just because of how provocative it turned out to be along with the big beads.
At a time when jewellery is becoming increasingly personal less about simply matching an outfit and more about expressing identity, memory and meaning the collection feels particularly of the moment.
Anusuya is ultimately a bridge: between tradition and now, craft and contemporary design, heritage and individuality.
It is jewellery for the woman who doesn't want to choose between being rooted and being modern.
She wants both.
And she wears both her way.
